oh for sure my ironmans and ultra endurance races define me. it's my best self's effort to beat the iron and give my normal human self a shot at greatness. anyone not seeing this have never experienced. they haven't studied pain.
they haven't climbed that yesterday 2k incline with 100s of flies attacking my face. felt the uncertainty of "am I gonna reach the top or do I go back?"
how is greatness built? by facing your fears and throwing yourself into risky situations, against your gut feeling, and thriving in that new environment.
I'm seeing softness nowadays.
"this is hard and the government should help us".
"hey Charles do you do events less extreme than climbing the Pico de Orizaba as part of lvl96?"
No and no. "no one's coming to save you". Plenty have died up there on the mountain trying to conquer their mediocre human nature. Respect to them. Respect to Marc-André Leclerc.
Anyone trying to conquer their basic self is onto something. I cringe when ppl diss billionaires. Not all of them do good, but all of them engage on a path to greatness that requires constant reshaping and going over pain. And ppl dissing that are nowhere near this path.
Start engaging on the path of virtue, start seeing that mountain. Then walk towards it. Feel its strength, and have it feel your strength.
