As I’ve been pondering lately, I’m way too much on the innovation side of things, and this means missing out on important revenue for my portfolio of businesses.
I'll therefore be launching a boring business: a Whitelabel ad spend agency, and need your feedback on the concept. it’s gonna be called boringagency.com:
I'll bring ad spend agencies clients with my GTM skills
these clients will be paying 1k/m, we'll go 50-50, so 500$/m each. price needs to be low for high recurrence but this may prove challenging
They'll serve clients, and retain 90% of them else I’ll outsource contracts to competitors
I'll own the clients, and I might exit the full equation a couple of months down the line
I'll be billing the clients
I won't show up to client calls but need a report (they’ll BCC me)
We'll sign a contract
My goal is:
steady cashflow, say 10-50 clients generating 10-50k/m
sell these micro-agencies in a 3-12 months period of time, say 40k-200k paydays
The downsides:
churn will stay high, it’s very rare for agencies with low churn
might take a significant portion of my time
I don’t want to end up babysitting incompetent resources
And not being in charge of the product.
what are your thoughts on this idea?
