The general sentiment in the US vs. TikTok is “get the hell out of here”, especially after China brought their real virus there.
The bioweapons claimed are exaggerated, granted the whole western world was News Channel brainwashed for years, and still is.
Remains that the western world is very much against China with their Wolf Warrior mentality, and this is just bad news for ByteDance and TikTok.
I don’t think it will be banned this 2023, but granted the history of China banning US apps, retaliation is the only logical outcome from this trade war.
Many of my clients are TikTok agencies. As part of my Agency Factory incubator program, I’ll even be launching my own tt agency this year.
Being cut from the greatest market wouldn’t be good news for TikTok. Most western civs would also follow suit.
My tt agencies would still not suffer, as a new none Chinese TikTok would emerge, and they’d gather the experience to be early adopters there too.
TikTok is short sensationalistic videos. The concept is not incredible. The tech backend is. The viral spread of the app during Covid was impressive too. But Clubhouse got that traction too. Chat GPT-3 too.
More of these high adoption / sticky apps will emerge with time.
Let the natural flow of things do its things, and just like Facebook, TikTok will have its natural downfall due to stronger/younger competitors.
Hence, no need of ban necessary, but US being what it is, I’m pretty sure drastic measures will be taken soon to take it down. I predict before 2025.
Or a complete breakdown/dismantling of tt, which would have it look like a scraped car with no wheels but a stirring wheel. Pretty much the same conclusion: it won’t go nowhere.
As a conclusion and my general opinion, slack off on government interventions. The Market does things right, pretty much always. The laws of evolution. Interventions just cause never ending wars and players taking advantage of rules modification of The Game.
So wait for it, it’s coming! The great TikTok breakdown. It was nice while it lasted.
