As spam filters get stronger and open rates are in decline throughout the industry, I found myself pondering on the email templates I’ve been using lately.
If your emails get flagged, and you’re using a template for a completely different niche, it won’t matter, you’ll still go to junk.
Hence, I found myself rewriting all my emails as of late, and ditching the template model.
There is a clear advantage of doing that too: improving my copywriting skills, nailing down my offers, and being more creative.
Most of my team still uses templates that they modify, as most of them will never equal my 8.5+/10 copywriting skills, so they’d be the exception to that new rule.
Templates, by default, decline in efficiency. They age. You can get a sense that template Y is a top performer, and extract the why, and rewrite your next email with that template Y MOAT in mind, but re-using is a sin.
Happy helping you to get out of spam and in calendars,
