Generating leads is challenging, but I want to share why I'm extremely optimistic about podcast lead generation and why this could be a game changer for your company:
1. Scalability: We use cold outreach to reach out to your ICP, inviting them to a podcast. Cold email outreach is the most scalable lead-generation channel. I've tested ads, LinkedIn outreach, and more. Open rates are dropping, and spam filters are getting tougher. Only compelling offers make it to your prospects' inboxes. However, podcast invites consistently get through. Guests will accept your invitation for promotion and because it feels great to be interviewed.
2. Standing Out: Your prospects are inundated with emails daily. Podcast invites stand out as unique. Your prospects are more likely to say "yes" to a podcast invite than a demo call.
3. Discovery Opportunity: A podcast is almost identical to a sales discovery call. You ask thoughtful questions related to the scope of your podcast, which should align with what your company does. You can qualify leads with questions like "What are your growth goals this year?" and "What's your revenue, and where do you want to take it?"
4. Long-term Connection: After the podcast, your prospects will connect with you on LinkedIn and subscribe to your newsletter, regularly receiving new content from you.
5. Networking and Reach: Once published, your prospects will share the podcast with their network, attracting more leads and podcast invitees, creating a flywheel effect.
6. Understanding Needs: The more you engage with your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), the more problems you uncover. This knowledge helps refine your offer and tailor your messaging to meet their needs better. Constant testing is key.
7. Content Repurposing: Use apps like Opus to create short clips from your full-length podcast, increasing your ICP views.
8. Results: I've conducted up to 100 podcasts per week, with a 10% conversion rate. While the close rate is lower and the sales cycle longer, the sheer volume outpaces traditional demo calls, making the podcast strategy highly scalable.
Maybe I've succeeded in making a case for lead-gen podcasting.
Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
