My internal sales team = lab rat for my clients: we test everything ourselves before deploying new features to customers.
We began advertising and remarketing through apollo.io databases mid-2022 and experienced good success doing so.
It all starts with a cold e-mail, as always, but we have a website link in the signature. When the prospect clicks the link, a Google Tag is triggered, and the prospect will see our ads on YT and a bunch of other places ever after. Remarketing has the highest ROI in the marketing jungle.
The remarketing ads will say that we’ve cold e-mailed them and could execute the same service for them: cold e-mail + remarketing. Quite powerful. Combined with linkedin outreach and calls, we quickly become top of mind and get the meeting.
We’ve also started using apollo.io databases for direct targeting (no remarketing). Google, YT and all other platforms have “upload lists” features, and since we only want to target our direct ICP, we’ve found that using apollo’s lists made the targeting way more precise. As a result, we spend less, and get higher quality of leads.
This is a hack we see very few advertisers use. Most agencies just use the platform’s targeting mechanism, leading to imprecise ads with low ROI.
Bottom line, using remarketing with our cold e-mail campaigns and using Apollo lists for retargeting has proven quite right for us.
