As the holidays approach, many of you are about to face a familiar existential crisis:
The "I need a break from work" vibe will quickly shift to "I don't want to go back to work" when Monday, January 6th, rolls around.
And I say: amazing. Life crises are powerful. They force you to rethink and re-align your life. Most of my CEO and Founder audience will experience this for one of two reasons:
1. You’ve prioritized profits over passion.
You hate what you’re doing. Your daily grind feels soulless. You dislike your clients, and maybe even some of your team.
Solution? Start a side venture with the cash you’re making. Begin to build something aligned with your passion and gradually disconnect from the painful reality you’re stuck in. I did this two years ago—I pivoted, fired 200 employees, and went all-in on AI, focusing solely on my Very Ideal Customer Persona.
2. You’ve prioritized passion over profits.
You're running on fumes. Cash is tight, payroll is stressful, and you’re struggling to keep the lights on.
Solution? Don’t panic—and definitely don’t go looking for a job. That’s not your way out. Instead, steer your efforts toward revenue generation: consulting, agency gigs, or anything that gets you back on solid financial footing. Pay off your debts, stabilize, and then reintroduce passion-driven ventures with smarter financial planning.
The Key? A Balance Between Passion and Profits
#Entrepreneurship isn’t about one or the other. It’s about finding the sweet spot between passion and profits—and adjusting as needed.
A Note to Employees and Wantrepreneurs
If you’re reading this from a 9-to-5 mindset, take the leap. Working for someone else only delays the inevitable. In 1–5 years, they’ll likely replace you with AI anyway. The future is entrepreneurial, and no government or system will protect you from this shift.
Start building. Start creating. Start owning your future.
