In an ideal world, you’d want to be rich and connected (not famous), but here’s why I’m betting more on my network than my net worth.
1- Network = money. I can connect VCs to startups, take a cut in their investments. i can connect someone that wants to sell its business with someone that wants to buy it. take my cut. cash. Most ppl suck at networking so it’s not too competitive in that field vs. the pure cash game is quite saturated. Think David vs. Wall Street.
2- Network = knowledge. I can monetize that knowledge. Trade it. Hedge it. Middlemen it. AI it, scale it. More cash, better me.
3- Network = favors. The padrino had piles of cash because he had piles of favors. You may do lead gen coaching for them, they’ll do health coaching for you. You may save their business one day, they’ll send you a cheque in 20.
4- Network = trust. What the money system was built upon. Trust is indeed hard to build, but I think I’ve found ways to multiply it quite fast. Doing good at scale seems like it. So network precedes > cash. history tells.
5- Network = way easier than chasing wealth. If you’re great at building systems and caring for others.
6- Network = friends. You can’t spend money by yourself, it’ll be way more fun to invest it with ppl you like.
7- Network = the future. I predict a shift in capital in the next 10-20 years. Connections and the heart will only be amplified in that future.
8- Network = feels better than money sitting by itself in the bank. network = win+win rather than most win-loose capital games. money doesn’t solve as much as a great network. you also don’t lose your heart in the process.
9- Network = safe. I’ve seen lots of folks fall overfocusing on the networth cash game. Ppl get greedy and jealousy sets in. Network is just more win+win habitually.
Humanity started off “networking” and trust, and then money was created as an invention to keep track of it. Network scales even better than cash, as this friend will tell another friend.
Moreover, the step over network+networth is building the greatest product on planearth. if you do, you’ll get both money and clout.
Nowhere in this article am I saying to do networking the classical way. Going to networking events and stuff. That never worked. Nor did BNIs. I’m saying, doing it the scalable way. With today’s tech. Through cold outreach, podcasting and backend funnels.
This is what I teach in my podcasting course or coaching program. I regularly meet with billionaires, top athletes and AI researchers. In no other realms could I do that without podcast systems.
If you’d like to see more of podcast my systems, lmk I can screen share. For free. Pure value.
