so far so good folks. still biohacking my way to a lasting throat virus but doing JUST FINE.. got 2 victories I wanna share for this week, they may inspire.
Joe de Sena finally made me a Spartan Partner.
I now have my own code (CERTIFIEDGRIT) which can have you save 20% on your next Spartan Race in US and Canada. I’ll be making some cash off that :)
The story’s that I’ve been crunching Spartans like Captain Crunch, they’re super fun and simple compared to Ironmans and they’re less boring than skinny ultras. If you know me, you know I’m a fan of simplicity. Simplicity is genius. Ironmans, man… the prep, the costs, the coach, the equipment, the yadi, the yada. Gimme a break.. Spartans, with my hybrid muscle/endurance training, I just show up and excel, even if this means running 50km in the mountains and crunching 60 obstacles.
Now, this brings me to the second part of this story. I created CertifiedGrit.com (website en construction) post-pandemic when I was dealing with some demons 3 years ago. I was in Puebla, Mexico, in this Airbnb that was sorta remote and I was like, I need to do some hard shit. So, I went on a 3 hour Ultra-HIIT, which involved 1000 squats, 1000 pushups, 1000 crunches, etc. Something enough to break you mentally. Finished it and the mental gains were huge: my business was back on track after that. So I knew I had to give that medicine to my CEO / Founder community. I’d do these 3-hour zoom call to have CEOs crunch the pain. And the community would tighten up through the pain → linking up with my mastermind lvl96.com.
I’ve added this year 100km loop park runs, peak climbing and now, well, Spartans with my fellow CEOs. If we connect through pain, we may be long-term adventure partners, and I know no other path to billions. Plus, life is more fun accompanied by friends. Real ones.
I’ll be crunching the Mexico City Spartan Ultra on the 3rd of April if you wanna join (no discount), and I’ll probably do 1-2 ultra in Canada-US. With 3-7 other CEOs. You don’t need training, just the mindset. The training will only ease the pain a bit :)
I’ll be joining forces with Satyen Raja, one of many billionaires.
Satyen was on my pod last week and we instantly connected. We’re both businessmen with a spiritual drive. Me 80/20, him 20/80. Good yin and yang. I’ve been seeking to connect my founders / CEO friends with the spiritual side of things lately, and he was the obvious answer to that. Him and another podfriend, the ex-CEO of Decathlon may join forces later. Anyhow, we discovered various synchronicities and it was just obvious today that we should joint venture.
My favourite ventures are the ones that yield immediate ROI because I’m a power user of the product. No-brainer that I’ll get multi-millions return just from going myself to the retreats, plus all of Satyen’s connections if I can get a bunch of clients to our joint venture. I can’t see much mentor nowadays, maybe 1% of the folks I speak to, but he’d surely be one of mine. Just like I’d show him my PMF magic. Mentorship needs to be win+win.
So, Sat usually charges 250k/yr, but I’ll be teaming up with him to organize a CEO / Founder retreat in British Columbia (or Hawaï). It’ll be 15k early bird and 20k for late turtles. We have September in mind and quarterly retreats after this, but we’ll make the retreat happen as soon as we have 7 CEOs booking. It’s 5 days. We pick you up in a limo in the morning and drop you off at your airbnb at night. Satyen has a dojo and a spectacular property. We’ll do ceremonies and there won’t be any structure to the days: gotta have mystery for hypergrowth. Our promise: by the end of the trip, you’ll flow like a river. Your business might be burning, or your relationship might be sinking. Time to wake up and stimulate mad change. Be fearless and you’ll have massive returns.
Thanks to friend Josh Schachnow for reminding me to send the newsletter this week, been a bit down lately. This one’s longer as a result.
